COMPLIANCE OF OUR PRODUCTS WITH THE RoHS DIRECTIVE
Directive 2011/65 / EU RoHS 2 concerns restrictions on the use of certain dangerous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in order to contribute to the protection of health and the environment. The new Directive replaces the previous Directive 2002/95 / EC implemented in Italy by Legislative Decree 151 of 2006. No changes have been made to the type of chemical substances subject to restriction that remain: cadmium (0.01%), mercury ( 0.1%), hexavalent chromium (0.1%), lead (0.1%) and flame retardants, PBB and PBDE (0.1%).
Scope
The directive applies to finished products. It does not apply to components and subsets. However, in order for a finished product to be considered compliant with the RoHS directive, it is necessary that all the components that constitute it are in turn compliant with the limit of use of the banned substances ("induced" compliance). It follows that component suppliers are under no obligation to supply components that comply with the directive, but manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment must use compliant components, requesting them from their suppliers. This applies to all types of components.
